Welcome from our Head Teacher

Mr Liam Frost
Head Teacher

On behalf of all the staff and students here, I am incredibly proud to welcome you to St Mary Cray Primary Academy.

Having served as the Deputy Headteacher here for seven years, this school is very close to my heart. Now, as Headteacher, I am honoured to lead a community school that feels like home to so many. We are a one-form entry school on the edge of Orpington, and that 'village school' feel is exactly what we believe makes us special - every child is known and cared for, every face is familiar, and we all grow together.

At St Mary Cray, our bedrock is built on three core principles: Respect, Resilience, and Responsibility. These values drive our high expectations and the way we treat one another every day. We believe in a holistic education: while academic achievement is of course a huge focus, we know that children only succeed when they feel safe, happy, and truly engaged. That’s why safeguarding and inclusion are our highest priorities and why we work so hard to create a curriculum that sparks curiosity—whether that’s in the classroom, when learning outside, through extra-curriculuar clubs, or on our many educational visits and events.

As a proud member of The Spring Partnership Trust, we don't work in isolation. We collaborate closely with our fellow Trust schools, living out the values of Ambition, Collaboration, and Equity. Together, we ensure there are no barriers to excellence for any child, regardless of their starting point.

Our school has been the heart of this community for over a century, and we value our partnership with our families above all else. We want our children to leave us not just with great results, but as kind, confident, and well-rounded individuals.

I’d love for you to see our school in action. Please do get in touch to arrange a visit—I look forward to meeting you and showing you what makes St Mary Cray such a wonderful place to learn and work!
